Motivation for your Monday: Living Intuitively

Can you believe it is already April?! As cliche as it sounds, this year is really flying by! Before I get on with the post I wanted to bring to your attention a future give a way that I plan on hosting! The thing is I can't tell you when, because well it depends on you! See when the Facebook page for this blog hits 200 'likes" I will do a BIG give a way that you don't want to miss.

Living intuitively isn't something that many of us do anymore. See we are conditioned to do things because they need to be done, vs what we want to do, or notice out of lack of time, energy, etc.

Intuitive means to perceive directly without rational thought as a person, or the mind.

Okay, this is probably going to sound crazy from someone who is often reminded of her OCD ways when it comes to many areas of my life. BUT ... can I let you in on a secret? I do try to live as intuitively as I can. The more I try, the easier it is.

Let's take cleaning house. I don't have a traditional cleaning routine. See, I look around and just do what needs to be done. If it has been a few days and I know it could use it ~ then yes I will try to do it. (Vacuuming is a good example!)

A good example of this benefiting me lately has been yard work. Both times I had done the yard work, it saved getting a complaint letter from our HOA. Mind you ~ that was twice in a month's time. Our HOA has been pretty picky lately, so I consider it a HUGE blessing that I trusted my intuition in those situations. There have been situations that arisen in our preschool environment as well that I went on my gut instincts and immediately felt relief by doing so.

I think that we have that natural intuition for a reason. Problem is, many people have muted theirs as they would the volume on the tv when they didn't' want to hear the interruptions. I bet as your reading this right now, a situation when you should have trusted your intuition has been brought to your mind.

Many people would be living happier more fulfilling lives if they would live intuitively. Think about it. What if in your gut (or mind) you have this thought "I want to go for a walk when I get home from work." Imagine what it would be like to be able to follow that? One, your not only allowing yourself to "detox" from work, but you are giving your heart and health a boost too. PLUS who knows what you will discover whether it be something visually or mentally?!

Let's take yesterday for example. I didn't' want to but I unplugged from everything and everyone for about two hours or so. In that time I allowed my mind and heart to become calm and quiet ~ not influenced by any outside source. The result? I felt rested, and recharged. And in fact I felt like I could take on the world. I know when that feeling sets in, it often spins for a few days and leaves me bouncing off the walls and enjoying every minute of the days ahead!

Living intuitively is important and something I think that has been done for generations, but for some sad reason has been lost. We are taught to live by schedules and even more so to "go go go" when really we can only go so much before it's over.

How can you live more intuitively in your life? I'd love to hear your thoughts!
