Courage. It's not something that all of us naturally possess yet, often in our walk with God Almighty ~ we are called to be courageous.
Then Moses went out and spoke these words to all Israel: 2 “I am now a hundred and twenty years old and I am no longer able to lead you. The Lord has said to me, ‘You shall not cross the Jordan.’ 3 The Lord your God himself will cross over ahead of you. He will destroy these nations before you, and you will take possession of their land. Joshua also will cross over ahead of you, as the Lord said. 4 And the Lord will do to them what he did to Sihon and Og, the kings of the Amorites, whom he destroyed along with their land. 5 The Lord will deliver them to you, and you must do to them all that I have commanded you. 6 Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:1-6
Sometimes in our lives, God is going to call us into making the choice of being a coward or finding the courage deep within us that HE specifically has put there and do what He asks of us. If you think it will always be a walk in the garden smelling roses, please read your bible! There ARE going to be times in your life where all you have is the clothes on your back, and the guidance from God. Relationships will change. Jobs will change. Houses, even, will change. There is only ONE thing that you can expect and that is if you follow God with ALL of your heart, ALL of your mind, ALL of your soul ... He will never leave you or forsake you!
Courage and boldness are NOT my strong suit, yet God continues to work on these things within me. He puts people in my path to encourage and help me learn how to be courageous, bold, and steadfast. Our teenage daughter is one who has always shown great courage and boldness. At one point she was facing adversity and fear held her back and almost paralyzed her ~ but she shook it off, and faced it head on. I admire her for that. At fourteen I would not be able to have some of the confrontations she has had to have, heck even at forty I struggle with confrontation!
As the calendar changed from 2013 to 2014 God began a new journey within me. And the GREAT thing is, as He has called me to this journey ~ HE too has promised me to not leave me! The beautiful thing is... I trust Him and believe Him!
