Sweet Word Sunday: Cheer

Whose in your cheering section?. It makes a world of difference who is in your cheering section of your life. Anyone on there who is against ya? They stand out and have more power than they should. But in reality it doesn't have to be that way. We do NOT have to give anyone the power over us, over our emotions, over our thoughts. Those are ours and ours alone. See, I am breaking free from a lot of garbage that I have let into my life and there are moments when I crumble and come crashing down just like anyone. The last couple of days  have felt just like that. But this morning ~ I am back with my boxing gloves on (pink with sparkles to be exact) and I am ready to fight!
30 And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified.31 What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32 He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? Romans 8: 30-32
I love finding scripture that backs up what I want to share! It's is the love of that where "Sweet Word Sunday" was founded. Anywhoo, If you are filling out your destiny that God created for you, please know that it does not matter what other people think, say, or do. But please know there will be some who will say things that are not so encouraging as well. That is how it goes. Not everyone is going to be on your cheering squad!

A couple of weeks a go the boys had a football game at our home field. It was nice. A whole bunch of "Eagle" parents all dressed in blue... yet a few people down was a dad dressed in red cheering the other team along, and cheering against our boys. It ruffled my feathers and I couldn't figure it out but realized just yesterday why that was. (For this blog post of course!)

Hearing things like "Knock em down", "Steal their ball", and "Take em out" while this momma was cheering "Stand strong against the defense", "Grip that ball like it's a baby", and "Please God protect them all!". To say I was irritated would be saying it mildly.

That is how it is in life though if we are not careful. I get that others in your life may not see the vision you have and that's okay. It is YOUR vision and no one can see it until you bring it forth. BUT... it doesn't give anyone the right to talk down your vision either.

Now, I need to interject something in here as well. Like I told you earlier in this post I am working through a lot of garbage that I have let into my life. Garbage that has been sitting there since childhood. A lot of doubt and that is where I must be careful right now. Normally I would say "if others are going to feed that doubt I don't need that." but I realize that really that still gives too much power to others. What I should be thinking is "their opinion of me doesn't change who I am. It's only a judgement perhaps on themselves."

For years if I had someone like that cheering dad for hte other team speaking against me I would fall apart and think that maybe he was right and what was I even thinking. Now? I realize it doesn't matter! Why? Because scripture says so! If God is for us (and we are following His lead in our lives) then who can be against us? Sure... they may have moments of doubt or curiosity but in the end if we follow through with whatever His plan is for us, we shall be justified and those naysayers will be able to see the plan when it is revealed to them.

Until then, be your own cheerleader! God will give you the words and encouragement along the way to keep you going if you just remain faithful in what He has called you to do.
