Sweet Word Sunday: Motivation

This week I had been working on some notes for an upcoming project scheduled for August. I love the creativity and the words that come when I sit down to write. I couldn't imagine what life would be like if I couldn't have the freedom to express some of the things that God gives me in such intimate ways that are so deep and personal. Little did I know that what I am about to share is not only from the project that I mentioned but it was also meant for me personally in this moment right now.

I am trying not to share content online that I would share publicly with you via books, speeches, videos, or even social media but ..... again, today is not just an ordinary day. The information I about to quote is copyright protected and not allowed to be quoted, shared or used anywhere without written permission. Feel free to share the link to this post with anyone you think would be encouraged.

"Encouragement comes from an outside source. Motivation comes from within. Knowing that ~ we must understand that encouragement leads to inspiration and motivation leads to action. You need both of these to be successful and be able to move forward in any aspect of your life whether it be spiritual, physical, emotional, or psychological."

I wasn't aware that I would be challenged in this specific line of thinking as the week began to move forward in time. I allowed myself to sit in limbo in an area of my life awaiting the decision of someone else ~ basically giving all power, thought, and action to someone other than myself about the next steps that I should take even as I was being given the clues that said "stop waiting!".

Then as soon as my eyes popped open this morning I immediately had a phrase from a commercial pop in my head. It wasn't anything to do with the product being sold but it was the words that hit home. "Sometimes God is waiting on you to make the next move." Kind of like a game of chess. (That quote was from Christian Mingle dot com ~ and no I am not into online dating, I am happily married. Does go to show ... marketing is important) I LOVE that I got clarity through no one else but God's clear direction for me. Do you know why? Because it tells me that it matters to Him what I do, and He has given me specific directions on what my purpose for my life is .... and waiting isn't one of them any longer.

If you continue to give power over what you believe to someone else, please understand that you are also giving them the right to say what you should do, say, or think. There is no excuse to give so much of your individuality over to "follow a pack".  I was not created to be a follower, and have always been known to be a good leader. For that reason alone ~ I will continue to fight to share that with the world and not succumb to pressure to be something or someone that I am not.

I pray that you have a blessed Sunday, and as you begin to start your week, I ask that you step out in an action oriented faith towards the goals and dreams that God has given you deep within. Stop putting it off for a better time, because you will never find a better time than now.
