I have to tell you something though. You can't have expectations of those closest to you to make you feel this way. Sure, they can ... but what about those days that they are struggling ~ and barely making it through the day themselves. Is it fair to expect them to make you feel good when they are hurting themselves? NO!
Day by day I am learning that the God of the Universe, the Father of Jesus, wants to LOVE us more and more each and every day. He pursues us. He waits to see if we too LOVE Him, and are we willing to pursue HIM? Are you? Do you?
I haven't always, and that breaks my heart! It makes me very sad that I have grieved Him, and made Him question my love. Don't tell me He doesn't either. Jesus even felt that rejection from the chosen twelve disciples ~ so surely GOD ALMIGHTY has felt it too from us.
60 On hearing it, many of his disciples said, “This is a hard teaching. Who can accept it?”
61 Aware that his disciples were grumbling about this, Jesus said to them, “Does this offend you? 62 Then what if you see the Son of Man ascend to where he was before! 63 The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing. The words I have spoken to you—they are full of the Spirit[e] and life. 64 Yet there are some of you who do not believe.” For Jesus had known from the beginning which of them did not believe and who would betray him. 65 He went on to say, “This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless the Father has enabled them.”
66 From this time many of his disciples turned back and no longer followed him.
67 “You do not want to leave too, do you?” Jesus asked the Twelve.
68 Simon Peter answered him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life. 69 We have come to believe and to know that you are the Holy One of God.”
70 Then Jesus replied, “Have I not chosen you, the Twelve? Yet one of you is a devil!” 71 (He meant Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot, who, though one of the Twelve, was later to betray him.) John 6: 60-71
I enlarged the part that I was speaking of. I wonder how many times I have made God ask this question to me, yet I was paying more attention to myself, to the world that I didn't even hear Him ask. How many times was God right there wondering "Is she going to talk to me today?" "Will I hear her speak of me to someone?" "Am I even on her mind today?".
Valentine's day is coming quickly, and while the world takes ONE day to express their love to someone ~ God desires to not only show you His love, He desires you to show your love to Him!
Love is all you need! When you find that you are falling in love with God guess what!? You begin to fall in love with the little things in life. You become thankful, grateful, and are more willing to be accepting of others and share God's love with them. Love isn't easy. It is sometimes one of the hardest things you can do in your life. Loving someone like God loves us, doesn't mean things are always rosey and sweet. Sometime's it's tough to say "no" but to say "No" with love as the motive is one of the BEST gifts you can give.

I hope you have a good Valentines Day.
